MEMBERSHIP FOR BLUE DAMEN PICTURES

An outline of the benefits and responsibilities of members.

Membership Cost:

  • New Membership: $30 per year
  • Renewed Membership: $25 per year
  • Associate Membership: $20 per year

    • Membership structure:

    Membership Coordinator:

    We will need a membership coordinator who will be the go to person for members and who will be responsible for collecting dues, updating the membership page and directory, composing the monthly membership newsletter, contacting members when their membership needs renewal, and overseeing the Big Sib program.

    The Big Sib:

    The Big Sib program will be composed of veteran members who will mentor new members in the way of Blue Damen Pictures. Essentially Team Leaders, they will be volunteers responsible for up to 5 newer members and will be responsible for encouraging involvement and making sure new members understand and follow their responsibilities and will give the members a Go To person for problems and disputes. The Big Sib will answer to the Membership Coordinator.

    Members:

    Any individual who wants extra benefits of being involved in Blue Damen Pictures. Honorary Members: Or temporary members- individuals who receive membership benefits for the interim of time during which they are involved with Blue Damen Pictures for production of a film.

    Associate Members:

    Members who are unable to be actively involved in the activities of Blue Damen Pictures but who are interested in being informed of Blue Damen activities. They pay reduced annual dues, are listed in the directory, have access to the web page and forums and receive the newsletter and may attend the annual members get together but do not receive comp tickets, discounts, t shirts, or business cards.

    Benefits:

    By becoming a member of Blue Damen Pictures you can get:

  • Two free tickets to Premier events.
  • Discounts on DVD’s of Blue Damen films.
  • Official Blue Damen Pictures Member T-shirt
  • Access to the Members page on the website and Member areas of the Forum.
  • A special monthly Members e-Newsletter with information about upcoming projects and events and ways to get involved.
  • The privilege of official Blue Damen Business cards (additional $26 for printing costs)
  • Optional inclusion in a Blue Damen Pictures directory for filmmakers.
  • Invitations to attend a yearly member’s get-together

    • Responsibilities:

    By becoming a member of Blue Damen Pictures here is what you are responsible for:

  • Participation in the planning or execution 1 fundraising effort per year.
  • Attendance at 1 screening of a Blue Damen film per year. (You get free tickets after all)
  • Respectful creative collaboration with the Blue Damen team on all projects and events.
  • Prompt payment of yearly dues.
  • Spreading the word about Blue Damen Pictures.
  • Veteran members of Blue Damen Pictures will be responsible for encouraging new members of Blue Damen Pictures in a “Big Sib” type relationship.

    • Bonuses

  • Any member who encourages 5 new members to join will have their dues waived for the next year and will have the option of becoming a Big Sib.
  • Any member who gets an article about Blue Damen published in print, or promotes Blue Damen Pictures on radio or television will have their dues waived for one year AND will receive [a $50 visa gift card].
  • Any member with board approval who secures corporate sponsorship, cash or in-kind donations exceeding $10,000 , or grant money for Blue Damen Pictures will have their dues waived for one year AND will be given the opportunity to chose their role in an upcoming Blue Damen production (writer, director, actor, etc).
  • Any member who serves on the executive board will have their dues waived for the duration of their term of office.

    • If Responsibilities are Not Met:

  • If a member of Blue Damen Pictures does not actively participate in at least one fund raising effort, or does not attend at least one screening event of a Blue Damen Film that member’s name will appear on the “Wall O Shame” on the Blue Damen Members page until participation has been rendered. If a member is unable to participate in said events due to family emergency, distance, illness, or some other dire situation they can have another individual: friend, parent, another member, etc attend in their stead.
  • If a member of Blue Damen Pictures does not maintain a respectful, professional relationship with other members, production team staff, event coordinators, or who represents Blue Damen Pictures negatively to the community (This includes remaining sober and drug free during Blue Damen productions and public events) that member will have their privileges suspended for a three month probationary period which will be supervised by their big sib. If there are no further incidences all privileges will be restored intact at the end of the probationary period. If there are further incidences during the probationary period, or if the member has three such suspensions, the membership will be revoked for one year.
  • If yearly dues are not paid promptly the membership will be suspended for a one month probationary period. If payment is rendered during the probationary month membership rights will resume immediately upon payment. If payment is not rendered during the probationary month the membership will lapse and the individual will need to renew at full price. If a member is unable, for financial reasons, to pay appropriate dues, an in-kind trade of goods, space, equipment, or services may be worked out with the membership coordinator. (Ex. An individual with little cash but a background in graphic design may trade graphic design services for membership dues).
